Dr. Flavio Andrew Santos is a Lecturer of Marketing & Tourism at the Berlin School of Business and Innovation (BSBI). His research and teaching interests bridge the disciplines of marketing, tourism, Revenue Management, consumer behaviour, and behavioral economics. He is an active member of the International Academy for Tourism Research Development (ABRATUR).

Research Interests

Marketing and Tourism

Examining the application of marketing theory to tourism contexts, including destination competitiveness, wine tourism development, and the strategic positioning of tourism products in dynamic markets.

Consumer Behavior

Investigating the psychological, social, and contextual factors that shape consumer decision-making, experiential consumption, and travel behaviour across digital and physical service environments.

Revenue Management

Studying dynamic pricing, yield management, and demand forecasting strategies in hospitality and tourism, with a focus on their operational implementation and impact on firm performance.

Behavioral Pricing & Economics

Analysing how cognitive biases, framing effects, and fairness perceptions influence price evaluation, willingness to pay, and consumer responses to revenue-driven pricing mechanisms.

Manager & Owner

FANS Transportation

Since November 2023, managing and owning FANS Transportation, a luxury car transportation company based in Berlin. Overseeing strategic, operational, and financial management, including service design, pricing policy, client acquisition and relations, and driver and fleet coordination to deliver a premium, personalised experience to an international clientele. Responsible for partnerships, billing, budgeting, performance tracking, and continuous process improvement to ensure safety, punctuality, and a premium standard in the German market.

2019 – 2022

Head of Reservations

Gem Serviced Accommodation, Lisbon

Managed daily reservations across all 12 partner channels and properties. Implemented revenue management strategies including dynamic pricing, segmentation, and seasonal forecasting using PriceLabs. Monitored KPIs such as occupancy rate, ADR, and total revenue, and prepared regular performance reports for the operations team. Handled customer bookings, payment processing, and partner channel expansion to drive sustained business growth.
